Fluidigm is seeking a highly qualified Field Application Specialist (FAS) based in the US Eastern Region to support the Company?s CyTOF Mass Cytometry platform of single cell proteomics instruments and reagents. The FAS supports customers, new product introductions, sales, and market development through application expertise, product knowledge, counseling, field demonstrations, product seminars, and conference presentations, all with the goal of maximizing user of Mass Cytometry in the field. Conduct on-site and in-house customer training courses
Provide phone-, email-, and in-person customer applications support, including troubleshooting issues related to user technical skill, instrument operation, experimental design, and data analysis
Provide high quality technical sales support, including technical discussions during customer visits, applications-based seminars, and product demonstrations
Conduct new product evaluation/testing with R&D and beta test sites
Provide constructive personal and customer feedback to R&D team
Create and maintain support information in the company enterprise database
Communicate project status, issues to management, users and staff
Consult with select customers post-sale to support application development, enhance utilization, ensure success, and secure customer advocacy
Promote solutions through participation in technical conferences, trade shows, publications, seminars, and symposiums
Participate in application design, data analysis, and authoring of high impact journal articles, application notes, and white papers, where appropriate
Understand focus areas, views, and influence of key opinion leaders
Support customer collaborations which specifically address commercial opportunity, application expansion, or growth
Participate in industry organizations, committees, and standards organizations; engage with key opinion leaders
Provide technical expertise with regard to potential new markets, applications, and competitive sales scenarios
Develop and deliver product/application training to sales and application colleagues as appropriate
M.S. in life sciences is required. Ph.D. and strong immunology background preferred.
3-5 years of hands-on experience in biochemistry, molecular biology, or cell biology lab is required.
High level bioinformatics skills are highly desired.
Previous application specialist experience preferred.
