Summary
This field engineering position is responsible for on-site system tuning, commissioning, and inspection/quality control of commercial audio/video (AV) system installations. This role will also provide technical engineering support and expertise to both internal and external clients in support of our systems installation business. This position is expected to travel a minimum of 50% time.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
?On-site management of AV system installations and installing contractors
?Creation of custom detailed installation guidelines and documentation
?Conduct on-site surveys, installation inspections and quality control of AV system installation projects
?Provide technical engineering experience in support of AV systems sales
?Provide design expertise and troubleshooting of advanced commercial AV systems
?Develop and maintain consistent documentation for all projects/designs
?Communicate effectively with clients, architects, and store planning teams regarding AV system requirements, functionality, and performance expectations
?Lead other team members by example, through detailed documentation, concise designs, accurate calculations, innovative solutions and prompt turnaround
?Provide technical expertise for customer service support team and installation/service contractors
Experience/Education/Certifications
?BS degree or equivalent
?Minimum of 5 years AV systems installation experience
?Minimum of 3 years AV systems design experience
?CTS certification preferred
Required Skills and Abilities
?Advanced knowledge of commercial AV systems
?Advanced knowledge of digital signal processor programming (DBX, Biamp, Rane, etc)
?Ability to read architectural and mechanical drawings
?Understanding of standard LAN/WAN network protocol
?Knowledge of standard commercial construction practices
?Ability to deal with sensitive situations with tact and proper judgment under pressure
?Ability to meet strict internal and external timelines / milestones
?Able to effectively provide, receive, and respond positively to constructive feedback
?Ability to anticipate, identify and respond to changing business priorities
?Ability to produce professional documents, including spreadsheets, correspondence and e-mail
?Proficiency with MS Windows Office Suite
?Ability to work independently and in a team environment
?Superb communication and organizational skills
?Actively contribute to new design ideas and departmental process improvements
?Work jointly and effectively with all internal departments
?Attend industry trade shows, national conferences, and client jobsites as necessary
