Field Service Engineer Molecular Imprints
Position Summary
Responsible for supporting customers worldwide while supporting manufacturing build, test, qualification, shipping, and installation of imprint lithography systems. Serve as MII first response for field support. Provide technical support and troubleshooting of complex electronic and mechanical equipment. Perform preventive and corrective maintenance as well as process operation/verification on complex electronic and mechanical equipment. Instructs customers in the operation and maintenance of the systems. Maintain good customer relations and customer satisfaction. Serve as the Company liaison with the customer?s first line management and technical staff when on field assignments. Complete and maintain detailed records of all technical problems using database system. Position may require high travel (domestic & international), extended deployment to MII/customer sites, and work on second shift.
Essential Functions
Build, test, install, customer acceptance, and operating imprint lithography tools
Provide service, repair, and product support of imprint tools, either onsite or via phone support
Read and interpret engineering drawings, pneumatic & electrical schematics, and Bill of Materials
Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical and software related tasks as they pertain to imprint lithography equipment
Perform mechanical, electrical and software related tasks as they pertain to imprint lithography equipment
Recommend methods to enhance customer satisfaction and assist in training less experienced customer engineers
Understand customer process and assume responsibility for customer satisfaction (foreign/domestic)
Use escalation policies as required to keep management informed of down/lack of progress situations
Develop, plan, document, schedule and implement upgrade and preventative maintenance activities for in-house and customer imprint lithography equipment. Create and distribute related reports and metrics.
Create and distribute technical alerts/bulletins
Participate in spare parts management process
Additional Functions
Perform other related duties as assigned by management
Assist in planning, communicating, and coordinating non-urgent support plans with customer management
Develop and implement plans to increase MII equipment productivity. Track equipment performance and develop plans uptime improvement
Maintain a running product improvement list based on actual equipment experience in the field to serve as inputs for upgrades and next generation products
Willing and able to travel, both between domestic regions and internationally. Flexibility to work on different shifts, overtime, stand-by, on-call, holidays, weekends, when required or assigned
Demonstrate skills and proficiency to successfully perform, unsupervised, in the customer?s environment
Demonstrate capabilities to diagnose and repair semiconductor production equipment
Demonstrate capabilities with on-site and telephone product support
Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills, in as it pertains to multi-language, multi-cultural customer base
Demonstrate capabilities in procedure and work instruction writing
Qualifications
Education
BS/EE, ME, EET or equivalent work/military experience
5 years electro-optical-mechanical semiconductor equipment
Of the 5 years, at least 2 years process and software experience on related semiconductor equipment
Experience
Experience in dealing with customers regarding equipment installation and service
Knowledge of Linux OS and Tool Control Language (TCL)
Ability to operate basic machine tools, hand tools, meters, scopes, common test/calibration instruments and other pertinent tools/instruments as required
Knowledge of clean room and safety protocols
Training in quality management tools and working in a team based environment
