Field Service Engineer SS8 Networks
The Field Service Engineer provides a field based revenue generating resource for the installation, maintenance, refurbishment and service support for SS8's portfolio of products.
Job Duties:
Execute field installation project plan for Lawful Intercept products in carrier networks.
Provide support and maintenance for Lawful Interception systems of SS8 installed in customer's premises.
Perform on-site hardware installation, software commissioning, network integration and customer acceptance testing. Reviewing project/product requirements, understanding architectures. Write customer acceptance test cases.
Assist customers with upgrades of hardware and software.
Help customers with equipment configuration and maintenance. Provide Tier1/Tier2/Tier3 support service to SS8's customers.
Assistance in scripting automation. Provide training on product operation, one-on-one or in small groups.
Local office 'quality time' for new product familiarization and technology study.
Communicate progress and escalate issues to project manager and Technical Assistance Center in a timely manner.
Proactively logging and closing support cases with Global TAC Center. Required Skills/Experience:
Experience in lawful interception is highly desirable.
Experience required with at least any of the two: IP Core Networks, IMS, NGN, Broadband IP Data Networks like FTTx, NG-AN, WiMAX or LTE. Experience with carrier grade voice products in TDM is a plus.
Minimum of 2 years experience required with RADIUS, DHCP, POP3, SMTP, IMAP, P2P, P2MP, SIP, H.323.
Must have strong network troubleshooting skills at packet level, familiar with packet capture tools
Experience with Sun/IBM/HP high-end servers is required. Experience with database and software analytics platform for Lawful Intercept
Excellent customer service, verbal and written communication skills required.
Experience at working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment is essential.
Must be able to learn, understand, and apply new technologies. Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment is crucial. Required Education:
CCNA or any other equivalent certification/s is must. Candidates with CCNP and advanced certifications will be preferred.
Experience in Shell script, Python, Perl, Tcl/Tk/Expect
Advanced level knowledge and expertise in anyone of the following is must: o OS (Linux/Solaris/Unix/Ubuntu etc).
Any administrator level certification will be a plus. o Databases and Data Retention Solutions (Oracle/MySQL etc).
Certification in at least one of the recognized databases will be a plus.
Knowledge of metadata, protocol parsing, encrypted, un-encrypted data and SIGTRAN is a plus.
Extensive global travel is required, at least 50% of the time.
