Field Service Engineer Second Wind
We have an immediate need for a Field Service Engineer to join our Customer Service team.
In this role, you will be based in our Newton, MA office and spend a majority of your time performing on-site field service activities concerned with installing, troubleshooting and resolving technical service problems for our 450+ fleet of Triton sodars based in over 32 countries around the globe.
Our ideal candidate is someone who may have graduated college in the past few years, has some related work experience and technical knowledge in electronics, computer science or electrical wiring and wants a job that will take them around the globe to places like Brazil, South America and Europe. This position requires a high level of problem solving skills, independence and "street smarts" to navigate successfully to remote places that may require driving for long distances and/or alternative transportation to reach (e.g. helicopter).
The position may also be ideal for someone with a military background. Candidates who meet the job requirements and are also "green friendly" are strongly encouraged to apply.
What you?ll do:
Participate in installation and commissioning of Second Wind products at customer's facility to ensure full functionality according to specifications.
Provide on-site technical service to troubleshoot and repair Second Wind products.
Coordinates problem resolution with engineering, sales, and other personnel to expedite.
Produce commissioning and service reports for field activities.
Analyze review and inspection findings to determine source of problem, and performs or recommends repair, replacement, or other corrective action.
Analyze reports of technical problems to determine trends affecting future design, production, service, and maintenance processes, and recommends modifications to eliminate future problems.
Develop knowledge base based on field investigations, engineering changes, and overall knowledge of product.
Develop and conduct training on the operations of the Second Wind products and demonstrates skills to trainees, including both team members and customers.
Monitor branch inventory and coordinate inventory control with main office.
What you need:
Bachelor's degree in related discipline (electrical, electronics, computer science); or two years of related field service experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and technical procedure manuals.
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
Ability to communication clearly to a diverse groups of customers or employees.
A high level or reasoning to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
Knowledge of MS Office and the ability to learn basic Linux commands and custom oftware packages.
Current U.S. passport and the ability to travel internationally.
Current drivers license in good standing and ability to rent a car.
