We are seeking an experienced Field Support Technician to join our team.

General Description
This position will support the construction, commissioning and startup of the solar field at the company?s Ivanpah Power Plant. The primary responsibility will be to assist the Field Support Supervisor in daily commissioning activities, such as troubleshooting various electrical and mechanical equipment; advising electricians while performing field repairs. The Field Support Technician will be required to be fluent with the company?s procedures, acquainted with its proprietary equipment, and troubleshoot issues as dispatched by the Field Support Supervisor. Additionally this position will be required to maintain documentation to track lessons learned for future projects. This is a supporting role position for the installation and activation of solar field equipment.
Required Skills & Experience
Electrician with current licensing preferred.
OSHA trained preferred.
Proven experience with a multitude of electrical/construction projects and knowledge of basic IT equipment.
Past experience as maintenance, service, instrumentation or electrical technician.
Understanding of general workplace safety and the ability to follow safety standards as well as help the company improve upon the standards in place.
Ability to excel in a collaborative, cross-functional and geographically diverse organization.
Maturity, professionalism and excellent communication skills, both verbally and in writing with superiors and colleagues.
High energy, developed interpersonal skills and a strong work ethic.
Detail-oriented with an ability to synthesize complex analysis, approach new challenges with creativity and summarize information in a manner that supports key decision makers.
Demonstrated proficiency in research, highly technical equipment and engineering.
Excellent hands on abilities with strong technical skills.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Responsible for heliostat, weather station and camera farm troubleshooting in the field.
Coordinate various meteorological sensors and cameras installation with the contractor and provide updates to field management.
Responsible for initial installation and maintaining specialized, cutting edge technical equipment, including high resolution cameras and laser scanners, some operated by photo voltaic panels.
Record and document all field troubleshooting activities. Offer creative and logical solutions to complex technical issues and procedures.
