Financial AnalystWe are seeking an energetic, goal driven Financial Analyst that will be responsible for providing analytical support for SS8?s management, operations and finance teams. The responsibilities will consist of business metrics, analysis, month-end processes and general accounting. Assist with detailed data collection for adherence to GAAP revenue recognition rules. This position will further be responsible for other duties assigned by the CFO and Controller. The position reports to the Controller. We are a privately owned, venture backed company located in the San Jose area.
Job Description
Maintain deferred revenue and cost of goods sold schedules
Reporting including monthly, quarterly, annual revenue and margin analysis
Participate and Support Month End Accounting Close
Posting of revenue to general ledger, journal entries accruals and reconciliations as assigned
Assist with preparation of financial statements and variance analysis
Work closely with the Controller, finance team and sales team to ensure proper revenue treatment is being followed. Assist with establish modeling to support VSOE.
Participate in annual audit
Partner with Controller to establish and maintain corporate policies and procedures
Assist with preparation of annual operating plans and forecasts
Partner with Product Management, Sales Operations and Supply Chain on Product Pricing and margin analysis
Analysis and reporting on travel expense and activity. Partner with corporate travel agency to establish controls and metrics
Work with Sales and Product Management to develop reports and key metrics
Create ad-hoc forecasts as needed during key periods to provide insights into areas of risk and opportunity and influence business strategies
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance
3+ years of relevant experience, software industry preferred
High proficiency with MS Excel and Word including complex pivot tables
Ability to work independently, with general direction and guidance
Excellent analytical and financial modeling skills
Attention to detail and accuracy
Strong organizational and communication skills
Ability to learn new concepts and technology quickly
Team player
