The Role

Tesla is looking for an experienced FP&A Analyst to join a newly formed FP&A team responsible for developing and implementing financial and operational processes, creating financial plans, and delivering management reporting. This position will also develop analytical tools and metrics to facilitate decision making by Tesla's executive team. The ideal candidate will have a track record of academic and professional achievement and demonstrate a broad understanding of finance & accounting concepts with a strong passion for Tesla's business. This position will report to the FP&A Manager and will work in Palo Alto, CA.

Responsibilities

• Leading financial planning activities, including development of regular forecasts through coordination with cross-functional teams.
• Creating and maintaining business planning tools including the corporate financial model.
• Preparing monthly financial review packages for use by CFO and other executives to understand key business metrics and operational performance.
• Leading preparation of financial materials for Board of Directors meetings.
• Supporting cross-functional systems projects.
• Partnering with Controller in support of general financial reporting requirements, including SEC filings and financial audits.
• Providing financial analysis support to Tesla's VP of Investor Relations.
• Leading all Department of Energy reporting activities.
• Evaluating financial and operating metrics of the company and providing strategic insights, hypotheses, and supported conclusions based on personal analysis.
• Understand how the product relates to global strategic issues and use that understanding to drive tactical decisions and effectively relate to the other functions and leaders in the company.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree from top tier university required.
• 2-4 years experience in financial planning and analysis for high-quality companies.
• The highest level of integrity and accountability.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to interact effectively with executives.
• Ability to work independently and think creatively with a proven track record of execution.
