Financial Analyst - R&D and COGS Business Partner Zeltiq Aesthetics, Inc.

The primary responsibility of this newly created position is to enhance the visibility into operational performance with greater efficiency and speed. Responsible for reporting, modeling and analyzing operating costs at both the corporate and functional level.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following (other duties may be assigned.):
? Serve as the primary business partner for the R&D and Manufacturing organizations.
? Development of departmental expense, headcount and capital budgets; partner with the business to maintain an 18-month rolling forecast.
? Provide in-depth analysis of business results, identifying emerging risks and opportunities and regularly communicate findings to senior management.
? Analyze data to explain trends and variances from budget and forecast.
? Work with business partners to understand key drivers and enhance financial modeling and forecast accuracy.
? Leverage solid Excel and financial modeling skills to develop and maintain financial models used in reporting, analysis and financial forecasting
? Learn and master Anaplan ? our financial budgeting and reporting tool ? and serve as the primary back-up for the system administrator.
? Assist with monthly internal reporting, which are presented to senior management and the BOD.
? Perform variety of tasks and ad-hoc analysis, as necessary
? Bachelor?s degree in finance or accounting.
? Three to five years of experience, with increasing responsibility within the Finance organization. Biotechnology/Medical Device industry experience is a plus.
? Solid understanding of GAAP; high level of business acumen; highly motivated and dedicated individual.
? Working knowledge of cost accounting principles (e.g. ? Standard COGS, Variances to Standard, Absorption, etc.)
? Excellent interpersonal skills; well organized, detail oriented; strong oral and written communication skills; effective problem solver with creative solutions.
? Strong systems skills, with advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access). Experience leveraging ERP (SAP, Oracle) and FPM (Hyperion, Cognos) systems to their fullest.
? Responsible for performing all duties in compliance with FDA?s Quality System Regulation (QSR), ISO13485, the Canadian Medical Device Regulations, and all other international regulatory requirements with which ZELTIQ complies.
