Financial Services Business Development Manager
Reporting to the VP Americas Sales, the Financial Services Business Development Manager will lead development and execution of go-to-market strategies and plans for the expansion of the global financial services market. By assessing market opportunities, partner eco-systems and customer requirements, this individual contributor will develop initiatives to maximize revenue generation. The role of the Business Development Manager is to drive the development and execution of a strategy to create competitive sales initiatives which will generate new business and position the company to win through aggressive sales strategies within the financial services sector. The business development manager will play a key role providing subject matter expertise to account teams involved in sales and marketing campaigns.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsible for specific revenue targets and the necessary business development activities required for target achievement
Achieve specific quarterly/annual product and service revenue within the financial services market
Develop/deliver business plans
Develop and drive execution plans
Develop strategic expansion plans
Perform lead discovery - assume responsibility for early detection of opportunities in the financial services space
Increase awareness of Stratus, promoting reliability and service in mission critical operations
Identify and recruit strategic relationships/partners
Consistently demonstrate high initiative to work independently to achieve results
Provide regular and accurate sales forecasts
Monitor sales performance against stated objectives
Align resources for most effective and efficient use
Utilize industry knowledge/affiliations to capitalize on new sales opportunities
Drive active communication and coordination of all segment sales and business development activities
Maintain regular contacts with prospects and customers to ensure accurate forecast and business results
Develop robust and lasting business relationships
Execute campaigns and programs
Follow up timely on all leads by conducting preliminary investigation and qualification of all opportunities
Provide market feedback/input relative to product requirements and/or deficiencies, competitive activities and industry trends
Ensure effective utilization of Salesforce.com per Stratus process
Be the central point of contact for customers and work on their behalf with all other departments within Stratus
Develop and maintain technical competence in Stratus product and service offerings
Maintain a high level of proficiency in the financial services industry
Qualifications:
BS degree with deep domain expertise including a minimum of 5 years working in, selling to, or consulting within the financial services industry
Sales and field execution experience in the software/technology industry with proven ability to identify opportunities and close business
Contacts with relevant industry executives
Ability to evangelize value proposition and engage key stakeholders internally and externally
Ability to establish and maintain credibility
Proven track record of closing large deals and complex contracts
Strong technical background
Experience with server virtualization software, availability software, disaster recovery, backup, or Citrix software products is highly valuable
Strong communicator and problem solver
Business acumen and analytical skills needed to analyze data, identify trends, create plans to drive growth
Excellent leadership and presentation skills with the ability to present to and influence top management
Ability to handle multiple assignments and work independently
40-50% international business travel
