Skills for Forward Deployed Engineers: software programming, coding, scripting, enterprise databases, deployments, system integrations, biometric systems (preferred)
Position Summary:
A Forward Deployed Engineer (FDE) is not only a product engineer, but becomes a product expert, so a sharp mind and a technical background is a must! The FDE works at customer sites to adapt, integrate, configure and create DSC software solutions that meet our customers? needs and exceed their expectations. You will be responsible for the success of deployments in various domestic and international locations.
Responsibilities:
Become a solutions expert on all DSC products and software tools
Develop code to customize DSC solutions to tailor to customer needs
Work in small teams to deploy DSC solutions at customer sites
Demonstrate dedication to the mission of the customer and to that of DSC
Scope and complete complicated deployments that could include unique configurations
Support business development efforts as a technical subject matter expert
Requirements:
A BA/BS degree in Engineering, Computer Science or related subject.
Strong programming and scripting skills
Software development and field engineering experience
Experience working with large databases
Good organization, multi-tasking, communication, time management and documentation skills
Working knowledge of project management principals
Must be able to travel at least 25% up to 75%
Candidate must meet eligibility requirements for a security clearance by the U.S. Government within a reasonable time after commencement of employment.
Desired Qualifications:
BA/BS from a top university in Engineering, Computer Science or Sciences
3-5 years related experience with biometric systems, software or solutions
Previous experience in the analysis of system architectures
Previous experience in networking or network engineering
Physical Requirements:.
Frequently required to use office equipment such as PC, copier, fax, telephone, etc.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and use of computer monitor screens.
Ability to reach within hands and arms length, climb or balance, reach overhead, and crouch.
Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Ability to travel frequently, utilizing varying modes of transportation.
Work Environment:
Individual?s primary workstation is located at the client site.
This position requires an individual who is flexible and capable of dealing with sudden changes (e.g.? flight delays, clients schedule etc.?).?
