We are looking for a Front-End Architect to join the engineering team at Etsy. This is a technical lead who will work with front-end engineers across various functional teams. Your primary role will be to organize and evangelize in-house standards and best practices for client-side technologies, as they are applied in desktop browsers, mobile web apps, and iOS web views.About the Engineering Team

About You
You have solid experience with JavaScript, especially "The Good Parts," know the ins-and-outs of various JavaScript frameworks, and browser compatibility. You have experience structuring JavaScript and CSS for large web sites and mobile applications. For example, what are your opinions on Nicole Sullivan's talk, "Our Best Practices are Killing Us" (http://slidesha.re/v3BMgw)? You've got some favorite parts of HTML5? Let's chat about how you're already putting them to work!
Performance is a high priority for us, and you'll spend much of your hands-on time measuring front-end performance and demonstrating ways we can improve. You're familiar with all of the typical performance hacks -- domain sharding, cookie-less domains, asynchronous loading, static asset compression, and so on. You've dug into our site and are just dying to point out the things we've done wrong (and right?). You can quote our Page Speed scores and can't wait to walk us through some waterfall graphs, or discuss the ins-and-outs of browser caching and local storage. Heck, maybe you'll even quote RFC 2616 while you're at it. You nerd, you!
Requirements
5+ years experience in front-end web development
Experience working in high-traffic web sites and mobile apps
Previous leadership role
Demonstrable knowledge of everything mentioned above
