OneSpot is a fast-paced Web startup in need of a Front-End Developer to work on contract. We are engaged in a wide variety of projects for world-class customers, and are seeking a candidate who is motivated, self-reliant, and can get up to speed quickly and contribute significantly to our efforts. You will work alongside our development team to provide markup, coding, and testing support for our ongoing deployments and product development.Primary Responsibilities:
Work independently to finish tasks effectively under time constraints
Provide markup, coding, and testing support
Pay close attention to details and reliably deliver high-quality work
Handle multiple simultaneous projects, switching priorities as needed
Communicate effectively with our team, and occasionally customers
Be available to work a minimum of 20 hours per week, at least occasionally from our office (near MoPac & 183)
Requirements:
Web-standards-compliant HTML/XHTML
Valid CSS
JavaScript (with jQuery)
Cross-browser development (we are usually obligated to support IE6 and more recent major browsers)
Experience in these areas is also desirable:
Templating languages (e.g. Liquid and ERb)
JSLint
Google Closure Compiler
SVN/Git
Trac
Firebug (or your browser inspector/debugger of choice)
Enterprise-level Web development for large customers
Design sensibility
Development/integration of third-party widgets on Web pages
Formal education is not required, but we strongly prefer two or more years related work experience. We will use your resume, a brief quiz, and an interview to gauge your skills and qualifications. We will also likely ask for markup/code examples or ask you to develop a very simple Web page for our review.
