Job Description
FRONT END DEVELOPER, TECHNOLOGY
Responsibilities:
-- Leverage skillets of a Developer, Business Analyst, and Architect to take a project to completion
-- Become an expert in JavaScript, SVN, Scala, Mongo DB and various open source libraries utilized
-- Take ownership of various initiatives for clients and internal analysts to design and provide solutions
-- Drive architecture decisions allowing the application to be scalable on the dimensions of data and users
-- Establish best of breed development practices, allowing us to grow the team
-- Ensure product quality by developing a comprehensive UI testing infrastructure with automation
-- Source ideas from the open source community to help keep the product suite current
-- Learn about the finance industry and generate ideas for the platform to grow
Qualifications & Experience
The ideal candidate would possess the following:
-- A Computer Science degree from a top university program(Undergraduate or Graduate)
-- 2 ? 6 years of experience working with a complex the web tier in Javascript, HTML, CSS, SVG
-- Appreciation for intuitive design
-- Serious experience with building high traffic, scalable, and preferment systems
-- Strong appreciation for architecture, problem solving, testing, and agile development
-- Rudimentary skills using SQL and an understanding of various NOSQL Offerings (Mongo DB)
-- Work with the open source community, developing OS Software is a plus
-- A strong desire to learn about Hedge Funds, and the Financial Industry is a must, but experience is a plus
-- Experience working with Core Java or Scala in an Enterprise Systems is a plus
-- Deep knowledge of the JVM, Core Java (5,6,7), and general development toolsets is a plus
-- Desire to pursue an deeper education in finance through Courses, CFA, CAIA or MBA program
