Fair Auto is a stealth start up company that has already raised several million in series A funding from top tier investors, including NEA, Index Ventures, SV Angel and First Round Capital. The company is leveraging mobile technology, telematics, and data driven applications to disrupt a $180B/yr industry in the U.S. We're located here in the San Francisco Bay Area. We're looking to hire a senior level end to end designer/developer to help us build a highly interactive, cutting edge website.
What you will be doing:
You will be involved in designing and developing the interface and functionality of the Fair Auto website application.
Depending on your skill set, this may include :
- Gather usability requirements
-Convert all desired product features and functionality into prototypes, requirement/specification documents, navigational structures; flow diagrams, wireframes and site maps
-Produce highly accurate wireframe documentation, process/task flows, site maps, screen prototypes and other specifications so that they advance the company's merchandising, business, marketing, and branding objectives.
-Translate wireframes into prototypes and complete visual compositions
- Create and implement the visual language and overall look and feel for the Fair Auto website based on these design objectives, product requirements, and functional specs.
- Come up with cutting edge user interfaces to create a truly compelling visual experience for users both domestically and internationally.
-Create engaging, usable, and effective visual design solutions that work to achieve business goals.
- Brainstorm concepts and create visual prototypes via story boards, mockups, or other prototyping tools and present design ideas to executive management.
-Know when to have pixel-perfect attention to detail and when to opt for low-fi design to optimize workflow and process.
-Advocate for branding and style consistency across all communication platforms
-Research, design, and prototype new user experiences with a high degree to attention of detail, including interface elements, such as user interface controls and photo realistic icons.
- Provide guidance for the overall visual language for page layout, site navigation, icons, button styles, forms and "widgets"
-Design creative, user-friendly, brand-consistent interface across all pages of the Fair Auto site
-Transform and implement design concepts into a production environment using HTML/XHTML, CSS, jQuery, JavaScript, C# and other emerging web technologies in a Java based environment.
-Develop front-end code using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
-Translate designs and style guides into functional user interfaces, ensuring cross browser compatibility, performance and robustness.
-Define and develop reusable and efficient JavaScript components and data bindings
-Write tests to monitor and ensure the performance of front-end code
-Build high performance front-end UI components that engage and delight our users.
-Create a compelling user experience using code polished to near perfection, leaving no detail unfinished
-Work with senior architects and back end developers
-Follow industry trends with regard to front-end technologies and techniques, and immerse yourself in all things Web and mobile
Relevant skills for the position:
- Strong understanding of site structure, navigation, and UI principles
-Ability to create prototypes, requirement/specification documents, navigational structures, flow diagrams, wireframes and site maps
- Pixel-perfect attention to details evidenced by exceptional visual and user interface design skills
