Front-end Engineer 7 Digital Media Limited
THIS JOB HAS EXPIRED We're looking for a talented front-end engineer to join our product development team, focusing on building our core suite of consumer-facing music products. We have an exciting roadmap ahead, and want you to be a part of shaping it and bringing it to fruition. You?ll be hugely passionate about building, architecting and working iteratively on highly-performant and deeply-engaging large-scale web applications.
You?ll be working in an enthusiastic and open-minded, cross-skilled team of back-end engineers, UX and interface designers and product owners, in a highly collaborative manner across the full software development lifecycle. We have no Project Managers or BAs in favour of collectively owning the products we work on.
We want people who care about the details, who take the time to do things the right way, and most of all desire to achieve beautifully crafted user-interfaces that delight, not frustrate!
Own the front-end stack; from auditing new technology opportunities to ensuring our code standards are met.
Have an eye for detail and a passion for quality, cross-browser compatibility and design aesthetics.
Be a proactive guardian of performance; maintaining, building and architecting a lightning-fast interface.
Work closely with our interface and experience designers to create engaging and exciting visual experience.
Work in tight collaboration with our engineering team, not being afraid to pair on features and be able to clearly communicate your ideas.
Expert in writing clean, semantic, standards-based markup and CSS, using things like LESS and SMACSS.
Strong understanding of the trials and tribulations of cross-browser development. Not only how to do it, but knowing when and why it?s essential.
An excellent grasp of accessibility and usability concepts and know how to cater for them. Graceful degradation and progressive enhancement should be in your day-to-day vocabulary and you should have good experience of the techniques.
Able to work in a collaborative and iterative agile / lean environment, and confident liaising with product owners and stakeholders.
Desired, but not essential, experience
Experience building for mobile-web, be it building responsive layouts or creating mobile-optimised sites.
An interest in user testing, usability and gathering customer feedback.
You?ll be working in a principally C# / .Net environment, so any experience with ASP.NET MVC and Spark is a plus, but not critical.
Other things we use; Node, Require.js, Mocha, History.js, jQuery, Karma (Testacular) ? any experience will help.
A love of music, after-work drinking and finding good places to lunch will go a long way too!
