Reply!, a leading online marketing firm is seeking a Front End Web Developer/Designer for our growing Marketing team in our Portland, OR office. Our designers/developers work hand in hand with our marketing department (paid search, organic search, and SEO) to control the look and feel of our website and test new designs to improve site conversion rates. This testing process includes manipulating template content to show visitors test variations while tracking their profile and behavior (clicks, views, and dynamic js events) on the page. This data is analyzed to determine what changes to push live and what to test next.Responsibilities:
To write, maintain, or adjust custom JavaScript for the following:
- Form Validation
- Testing and tracking visitor behavior
- Connecting our front end code to back end algorithms and databases
To write or maintain custom PHP scripts for the following:
- Create simple custom plugin scripts in MODx to add dynamic behavior to templates
- Customize existing plugin scripts to enhance MODx
Will handle and/or request MODx technical support, as we need it
Will handle any data transfer from our front end to back end, and between internal tools for reporting
Maintain and support our MODx server environment
Maintain backup and versioning workflow for sites
Maintain our caching strategy
Assist in the build out of HTML/CSS templates and Design testing
Required Skills:
1. Expert at Javascript
2. Strong understanding of HTML, CSS & JQuery
3. Familiarity with PHP/MySQL
4. Familiarity or desire to learn general backend environment - server setup, caching strategy, JSON, etc. (someone to serve as ambassador to engineers at Reply!)
5. Familiarity with Linux
Preferred:
1. ModX experience
2. Familiarity with the Adobe Design Suite
3. Github experience
