Our organization will serve nearly a million patients in 2013, offering a wide range of screening, diagnostic and interventional procedures that complement each community?s needs, in collaboration with radiologists, healthcare providers, hospitals and health systems.
We are currently seeking a Full Time Front Office Associate in Northern Virginia. Primarily working at our Arlington center but flexible to float to Fairfax and Woodbridge as needed.
Under supervision perform a variety of customer service and clerical support tasks. Demonstrate Insight?s Patients First customer service principals to every patient and customer.
An employee in this position may specialize in some function/s and not necessarily perform all functions described below. This may vary depending on business need, center size and scope of job.
Examples of Essential Functions:
? Address patients/referring physician offices in a professional and friendly manner, using superior customer service techniques.
? Handle telephone calls in a professional and friendly manner with patients, physicians? offices, and all other parties calling the facility.
? Provide, assist or specialize with appointment scheduling functions.
? Make patient appointment confirmation calls including notification of any patient owed fees. May provide procedure preparation information to the patient.
? Perform patient eligibility check with insurance companies.
? Obtain procedure authorizations/precertifications from insurance companies.
? Gather and/or assist patients with registration information as required. Insure accurate data entry into the information system. Data can include demographic, billing data and patient payment information.
? Follow company collection and cash control policies by informing patients of their financial obligations and collecting payment at time of service and controlling cash.
? Monitor patient flow with technologist and/or supervisor and communicate wait time to patients.
? Accurately monitor and maintain medical records including creation, retrieval and clinical report distribution and reconciliation. Knowledge of medical forms required for releasing patient information.
? Perform daily center banking functions to include accurate completion of daily cash logs, bank deposits and all receipts. Includes daily scanning reconciliation.
? Will process patient paperwork, including copying, faxing and scanning.
? Adhere to company dress and appearance requirements.
? Need to maintain a neat and clean environment in the patient reception area, lobby and patient restroom.
? Comply with all applicable laws, rules and regulations, the company?s policies and procedures, and The InSight Integrity Program.
? Perform other projects/tasks, as requested by the Company.

? High school graduate or equivalent.
? At least 1 year of previous experience in a customer service role.
? Associate degree in healthcare or other related field.
? Previous experience in a medical setting.
? Basic knowledge of telephone communication skills.
? Read, interpret, communicate and understand Spanish.
? Basic key boarding and computer knowledge.
? Customer service principles and techniques.
? Positive approach to learning new skills.
? Multi-tasking skills.
? Type accurately at a rate of 25 wpm.
? Operate standard office equipment such as calculators, computers, copiers, scanners and facsimile equipment.
? Schedule, organize and complete work in accordance with deadlines and time constraints.
? Communicate effectively with all internal and external customers.
? Ability to function as a positive team member.
? Understand the confidentiality of patient records.
? Understand cash handling and control techniques.
