Fuel Supply Analyst FuelQuest

We are currently seeking a Fuel Supply Analyst for our Houston, TX office.
Monitor NYMEX and other market tools daily, to make optimal fuel purchase decisions resulting in savings opportunities for our clients.
Conduct tactical market and data analysis.
Support Best Buy team with Day Deal recommendations.
Manage entire Request for Proposal process for multiple customers.
Perform analysis on historical fuel purchasing patterns of existing and new clients; juxtaposing data with current market trends to support the final recommended client supply portfolio balancing cost savings and supply security.
Demonstrate exceptional understanding of market moves that impact rack and spot markets by providing same day and next day loading guidance.
Maintain relationships with and between: customers, suppliers, carriers.
Recognize process improvement opportunities and initiate sustainable proposals.
Understand client goals, objectives, infrastructure, geographic presence, volumes and history.
Business Process Skills Required:
Ability to analyze contractual agreements.
Petroleum Industry supply chain knowledge.
Knowledge of fuel pricing and contracting mechanisms.
Basic knowledge of motor fuel tax laws and regulation.
Understand fuel product property requirement differences.
Understand market timing and underlying fundamentals that move rack and spot market.
Ability to recognize market, refining, and supply nuances that impact daily fueling decisions.
Familiarity with fuel supplier contract mechanisms such as PLATTS, OPIS and ARGUS based pricing.
General Skills Required:
Advanced level Excel skills.
Macro development skills a plus.
Proficiency with basic Microsoft Office Word.
Minimum of 5 years of energy industry expertise.
Attention to detail and strong process orientation.
Strong verbal and written business communication skills.
Must be able to work independently in a team environment.
Ability to understand supply issues/concerns and resolve independently.
Previous pricing analysis work for major oil company or jobber preferred.
Previous experience with managing supply in Canada is considered a plus.
Interpersonal and communication skills to communicate strategy with clients.
Must manage time well and be comfortable working on multiple clients simultaneously.
Interpersonal and communication skills to negotiate with third parties such as suppliers and carriers.
Minimum Educational Requirements:
Bachelor?s degree required and advanced degree would be considered a plus.
