Overview:
POSITION SUMMARY:
This position provides technical assistance to computer system users. The incumbent to this position answers questions or resolves computer problems for clients in person, via telephone or from remote location. May provide assistance concerning the use of computer hardware and software, including printing, installation, word processing, electronic mail, and operating systems.
Responsibilities:
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Answer users' inquiries regarding computer software and hardware operation to resolve problems.
Enter commands and observe system functioning to verify correct operations and detect errors.
Install and perform minor repairs to hardware, software, and peripheral equipment, following design or installation specifications.
Oversee the daily performance of computer systems.
Set up equipment for end-user use, performing or ensuring proper installation of cable, operating systems, and appropriate software.
Read technical manuals, confer with users, and conduct computer diagnostics to investigate and resolve problems and to provide technical assistance and support.
Confer with staff, users, and management to establish requirements for new systems or modifications.
Refer major hardware or software problems or defective products to vendors or technicians for service.
Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

TRAVEL:
Field Services Technologists are required to travel on an as needed basis (30%). Must be able to book hotels and rent cars with personal credit cards until expense reports can be filed.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
The work requires some physical exertion such as long periods of standing, stooping, stretching, reaching, or similar activities; or recurring lifting of moderately heavy items up to 25 pounds. The work may require specific, but common, physical characteristics and abilities.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment that requires normal safety precautions.
Qualifications:
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
Required:
High School Diploma or GED
5 years of experience in IT
Willingness to work outside normal business hours
Valid Driver?s License
Must have reliable automobile to travel to numerous locations as needed
SKILLS/COMPETENCIES
Required:
Functional knowledge of Microsoft Office systems
Troubleshoot and diagnose hardware and software issues on major manufacturer platforms
Working knowledge of Microsoft SharePoint
Managing virus protection across the domain
Experience setting up and configuring PC?s
Knowledge of networking topology and concepts, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, WINS, and LAN/WAN, and desktop virtualization.
Microsoft Outlook setup and configuration
Willingness to work after normal business hours or weekends
Good communication, time management, process management and organizational skills
Ability to work in a dynamic environment, including effective multi-tasking, exercising patience and professionalism, and advancing on longer-term projects in parallel to ongoing daily business needs
Attention to detail and patience for user questions
Prior experience in planning new office rollouts
Deploying workstations using Windows Deployment Services
Active Directory management and migrations
Preferred:
Scripting experience (PowerShell a plus)
Knowledge of System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM)
Experience working with Windows Server Update Services (WSUS)
Group policy (GPO) management
