Full-Time Procurement Specialist Good Start Genetics
THIS JOB HAS EXPIRED We seek a highly motivated individual who can utilize his/her superior organizational skills to support the procurement functions of our clinical laboratory operations. This position will report to the Laboratory Support Manager, but also coordinate with Finance and other departments as needed.
Oversee the purchase order process and receipt of supplies for the clinical laboratory and the R&D group
Plans and implements activities related to the material purchase, and shipping/receiving and stores function
Prepare and receive Purchase Orders (P.O.s) per requests from clinical laboratory or R&D staff and/or notifications from inventory system(s)
Review P.O.s in order to verify accuracy, terminology, and specifications
Obtain quotes and place orders with vendors in a timely manner
Negotiate best price with vendors for material and equipment purchases, as requested (perform buyer functions, as requested)
Respond to customer and supplier inquiries about order status, changes, or cancellations
Contact suppliers in order to schedule or expedite deliveries and to resolve shortages, missed or late deliveries, and other problems.
Updates inventory systems, databases and spreadsheets related to procurement activities
Ensures visibility of order process and status to all laboratory personnel.

At least a High School Diploma with two (2) full years of clerical experience either in a purchasing department or a related function. Or have a bachelor?s degree and either have relevant experience or can demonstrate aptitude.
Proficiency in MS Office and email, particularly Excel

Proven success in coordinating work across department lines using influencing and communication skills, and establishing good working relationships
Strong analytical skills
Ability to work both independently and in a team environment
Familiarity with Access or other database systems

Ability to make general decisions in accordance with departmental policies and procedures, and to recognize and correct departures from policy and procedure
Experience working in a clinical laboratory setting and/or familiarity with molecular assays
Understanding of cGMP and/or ISO and/or clinical laboratory regulations (CAP, CLIA).
