Job Overview:
TripIt drags traveling kicking and screaming into the 21st century. TripIt turns all your flight, hotel and rental car confirmation emails into an awesome itinerary just by hitting forward. Then your master itinerary can be accessed from anywhere -- on your laptop sitting on the couch or in your hand running through the airport. And that's just the start -- we can help you share plans with friends, find you a refund, watch your point balances, and alert you when your flights change.
Reporting to the Manager of Public Relations, the PR intern will be excited to roll up their sleeves in the ?real world? of a fast-moving consumer PR program.
Responsibilities:
Who? You will maintain the ?who?s who? of travel, tech, business, and lifestyle media, and play detective to find new, relevant contacts.
What? You will be on the lookout for opportunities to ?help a reporter out,? as well as a keeping a pulse on what?s making news and trending on Twitter.
When? You will be responsible for identifying relevant awards, speaking opportunities and editorial calendars.
Where? You will get to know the top media markets around the country, intimately.
Why? You?ll gain priceless, first-hand experience that every PR pro still uses today, and enjoy the fruits of your labor with killer portfolio pieces.
Position Requirements
Education, Experience & Training required:
Beginner public relations or journalism degree coursework completed.
Writing samples.
Ability to pass a background check.
Job Specific Specialized Knowledge & Skills:
Strong communications and writing skills
You?re a news junkie. You consume online, print and broadcast media like it?s nobody?s business. The Economist and E! News count, equally.
You love to Google. Oh, and Wikipedia, LinkedIn, and Twitter are your BFFs.
