Game Master Kongregate
THIS JOB HAS EXPIRED The majority of Kongregate?s revenue comes from our platform for virtual goods-based browser games. As a Game Master at Kongregate, you will be responsible for monitoring, analyzing, and optimizing these games. You will use both quantitative and qualitative skills ? both metric interpretation and game design sense are important. You will also put special emphasis on tracking our top performing games, looking to preempt problems, identify opportunities, and help manage the communities. Was revenue down in our top-performing title? Did player numbers suddenly jump? We need the Game Master to know and understand why.
Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities:
Track a set of about a dozen high-priority MMOs on a regular, weekly basis, looking for opportunities and anticipating issues
Act as a representative for the site in forums and chatrooms of high-priority games
Work to help on-board new games, including performing QA and helping developers get their games to pass
Assist with promotion and optimization discussions with live games on the platform
Extensive knowledge of and enthusiasm about video games, especially for MMOs
Experience with, or desire to learn about, free to play monetization and retention
A sense of joy when looking at large tables of data in Excel
Basic and Preferred Qualifications (Education and/or Experience):
Leadership experience in online communities (gaming communities preferred)
High school diploma, bachelor?s degree preferred
1+ years of experience in the games industry preferred
Minimum Qualifications, Job Skills, Abilities:
Excellent written comunication skills
Working knowledge of Excel, comfort working with numbers and metrics
Working knowledge of ActionScript, Unity3D, SQL, and the Kongregate platform are a plus
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and to meet changing deadlines and priorities on multiple simultaneous projects
