Are you an Accountant who is ready to learn about a company from the ground-up? Inspirato is a relatively new to luxury travel industry, and we are searching for a person that?s ready to hit the ground running in this fast-paced and constantly changing business environment. This is a great position to help grow the Accounting team, as well as touch several other departments. You will make your mark here, and we'll make sure you know how grateful we are for it!This person will assist the accounting department with research, reporting, and the monthly close process. Looking for a team player with excellent communication skills, a working knowledge of GAAP, and a great attitude; someone who is willing to get their hands dirty and can?t wait to take on a variety of challenges!
Key responsibilities include:
? Perform month-end close procedures by reconciling accounts (prepaids, cash, payables, etc.), creating accruals, and preparing other general entries as needed
? Maintain fixed asset subledger and prepare monthly depreciation and disposal entries
? Assist with lease accounting and contract management
? Obtain invoice approvals and indicate proper account coding to support timely and accurate payments and reporting
? Collaborate with Accounts Payable to research and resolve invoice, credit card, and expense charges and coding
? As requested, support AP by reconciling property vendor statements, research and correct discrepancies.
? Interact with other accountants, property operations, and other departmental teams to make month-end accruals and investigate variances from budget
? Support the accounting team with the preparation of financial package issued monthly to the Board of Directors
? Assist with other projects as needed and research and answer questions posed by senior management
? Exhibit strong interpersonal and organizational. This includes problem resolution and relationship management via timely response to all inquiries
Requirements:
? Experience with startup companies a plus
? Be conscientious about achieving deadlines and has an accurate work product
? Assume accountability for specific performance
? Good written and verbal communication skills, including ability to articulate recommendations in concise and timely manner
? Detail oriented and very analytical
? Strong organization skills
? Ability to challenge status quo
? Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
? Strong knowledge of GAAP and accounting pronouncements in general
? Understand variance analysis when comparing actual to budget or historical results
? Bachelor?s or higher degree in Accounting required
? Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience ? public accounting experience and CPA a plus
? Microsoft Dynamics GP (Great Plains) experience strongly preferred
? Ability to adapt and work efficiently in a rapidly changing dynamic environment with deadline pressures
