The General Manager (GM) is responsible for leading the strategy, development and implementation of Availity?s Business Solutions. S/He is responsible for overall business success, including working with Availity owners, partners and broad network of customers to design, implement and support solutions that meet the market?s needs. The General Manager will have profit/loss responsibility for the Business Solution Group.
The GM will ensure that all product initiatives are achieved, and will lead BSG product management through the product(s) life cycle. The GM will work with members of the Senior Leadership team to lead the discovery, design, development, implementation and support of BSG products and services.
The GM will have responsibility for business line P&L management. This will include setting annual budgets, top-line and margin forecasting, and supporting Availity?s monthly, quarterly and annual operating mechanisms.
The GM will coordinate the implementation of new products/features in to existing operations. This includes internal communications, metrics, process design and operational readiness. S/he will also ensure that projects are completed and properly documented according to product specifications, timelines and quality standards.
The GM will provide the product expertise and strategic focus for all market research and product positioning efforts.
The GM will serve as the internal and external product expert and provide product and market expertise to assist all sales channels in presenting Availity?s offerings. The GM will provide creative solutions from existing capabilities so as to satisfy market demands and will participate in actual sales calls for customers or prospects.
Third Party Vendor Management:
The GM will oversee all activities required to utilize third-party business suppliers. This includes vendor selection, contract negotiation, project management, service level agreement (SLA) management and overall relationship building.
WORK EXPERIENCE & SKILLS (Required)
The successful candidate will have the following background and qualifications:
S/he will bring more than fifteen (15) years of progressively increasing leadership of complex projects and programs.
The candidate will bring more than ten (10) years of healthcare industry and management experience. This includes experience with financial and administrative solutions, knowledge of the associated trends, technology and competition that surrounds this area for the healthcare industry.
The candidate will have a solid understanding of using Information Technology to satisfy business needs.
The candidate will be a proven and strong leader with a track record of helping teams achieve their business objectives.
The candidate will have experience running a P&L.
The candidate will bring proven experience in managing research and development projects.
The candidate will bring a depth of experience and related credibility of working with the healthcare industry and specifically with physicians.
The individual will be experienced representing his/her company and products to the client and industry.
The candidate will bring a strong process management orientation and as such apply processes as needed to get the right things done.
The candidate will bring a strong background in health information exchange and specifically Business information exchange programs, products and services.
WORK EXPERIENCE & SKILLS (Preferred)
Prior employment with a large health plan, provider group or PM/EMR vendor
Leadership experience with a major trade organization (HIMSS, MGMA, AMGA, AHIP, etc.)
Extensive Lean and/or Six Sigma experience
Extensive experience working in an Agile and Scrum development shop
Experience with Pragmatic Marketing
EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATION (Required)
EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATION (Preferred)
Masters Degree and / or an advanced degree in healthcare including a Medical Degree or degree in Medical Informatics is strongly preferred.
