Aurora Flight Sciences is currently seeking a General Manager/Plant Manager to run our Manufacturing Facility in Columbus, MS. The General Manager reports to the President & COO.
The General Manager/Plant Manager (GM) of Aurora Flight Sciences? Columbus, MS manufacturing facility is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the site, overseeing groups from manufacturing, production, operations, quality, accounting, safety, engineering, human resources and facilities.
The GM/PM is responsible for quality, cost, delivery and safety across the site. Working closely with the Business Sector Vice Presidents, the GM/PM supports, maintains and grows customer relationships through customer visits, program and operations reviews, and marketing campaigns. This position also serves as the Site Lean champion and strives for a ?lean forward? culture where continuous process improvement is the standard to improve competitiveness.
Extensive knowledge and experience in production manufacturing environments, especially composites, and aerospace machining with such alloys as titanium, aluminum and steel. Ability to evaluate and develop capital equipment budget based on current and proposed customer requirements.
Strong Manufacturing Production Operations experience to include, proven track record in reducing labor hour cost, increasing program profitability and managing successfully through at rise programs to establish schedule and cost commitments.
Develops and maintains manufacturing operations business plans to include all program requirements, labor hours, and cycle and production costs.
Manages and oversees the work of several manufacturing supervisors Establishes and maintains stringent production and quality control standards to meet and exceed AS9100 standards, develops an annual budget and controls costs on a daily and monthly basis and obtains data regarding types, quantities, specifications, and delivery dates of products ordered.
Establishes, maintains and monitors standard costs for both material and labor working closely with the members of finance.
Provides guidance and input into the development of a manufacturing process plan, including personnel requirements, material needs, subcontract requirements, facility needs, and tooling and equipment needs. Is overall responsible for maintaining the building, equipment and facility.
Is responsible for conducting ongoing and recurrent training throughout the year to maintain our AS9100 standards. Ensures all established costs, quality, and delivery commitments are met Demonstrated organizational, planning, communication, and management development skills.
Strong business acumen with the ability to focus on overall business results in a dynamic environment.
Ability to develop effective and credible working relationships, works effectively as part of a team, in addition to having good interpersonal communication skills with a hands-on approach.
Demonstrated experience as a ?change agent? who has improved the bottom line by leading continuous improvement and Lean Six Sigma efforts, in all areas of manufacturing process and supply chain. Six Sigma certification desired, but not required.
Seeking a high energy, innovative, strategic thinker who enjoys working for a company who truly sees its employees as its greatest asset. Successful candidate will have strong Aerostructures manufacturing experience (prototype and production) in a leadership positions.
Bachelor's Degree required (preferably engineering or manufacturing operations focus) plus 10+ year?s Aerostructures manufacturing experience with minimum 2 to 3 years senior management experience.
