The Generalist, People & Culture, is a business partner responsible for performing human resources related duties on a professional level and works closely with the Retail Sr. Manager, People & Culture in supporting designated geographic regions. The position carries out responsibilities in the following functional areas: employee relations, training, performance management, onboarding, policy implementation, and employment law compliance.
Administers various human resources plans and procedures for Retail employee personnel; assists in the development, implementation and interpretation of personnel policies and procedures
Manages required employee relations investigations and other sensitive employee matters. Supports the local facilitation of corporate and human resource communications. Advises executive personnel on local business and people issues/perspective.
Partners with local management to ensure that employees are treated in an equitable and consistent manner and Company policies and practices. Finds the right balance between the business need and employee advocacy.
Provides guidance and coaching to local management that will enable them to be more successful as they lead their teams. Demonstrates the ability to challenge appropriately
Participates in developing department goals, objectives and systems
Performs general benefits administration to include communicating benefit information to employees like eligibility, enrollment process and plan understanding
Assists in evaluation of reports, decisions and results of department in relation to established goals. Recommends new approaches, policies and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of department and services performed
Advises and ensures local management adheres to relevant federal and state employment laws, as well as developing, implementing and maintaining all required regulatory reporting
Up 60% Travel within Retail footprint
Performs other related duties as required and assigned
Bilingual in English / Spanish ? must speak, read and write well in both languages
Minimum 3 to 5 years? experience resolving complex employee relations issues
Strong analytical skills, including reporting, synthesizing data to identify themes and create solutions to address those issues
Proven coaching and conflict resolution skills
Successful track record of delivering superior client service
Excellent verbal and written communication skills required; presentation and platform skills preferred
Bachelor?s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field with 3-5 years of related work experience preferred
Road Warrior and comfortable with travel (minimum 35%)
PHR/SPHR certification preferred
