The Account Manager is Responsible for soliciting orders, selling K2M products assigned, and representing the company in accordance with its policies and in the area assigned; for maintaining awareness of local competitive conditions and for reporting back promptly to the manager. The responsibility of a Account Manager is to achieve sales objectives and market development goals within a sales territory. The Account Manager will develop product demands by creating product awareness and providing education/training to clinicians and hospital staff.
Generate new sales: Develop leads, recruit new surgeons, qualify prospects, and make sales calls.
Aggressively seeks new customers and formulates and follow plans for such action as directed by the Sales Manager.
Meets or exceeds sales quota and increases total company market share in assigned territory.
Calls on customers and prospects; provides technical, marketing, and administrative product information and demonstrations; quotes appropriate customer prices. Particular focus on orthopedic and neuro spine surgeons, spending approximately 80% of work time meeting with them in a hospital setting.
Implement approved marketing strategies.
Cooperate with all personnel on the execution of Company programs.
Train other sales representatives or in-house personnel on spine products use and features.
Respond to customer complaints in accordance with K2M policy and advise Sales Manager and K2M promptly of any situation beyond scope of authority.
Remains informed of new products and other general information of interest to customers; monitors and gathers information on competitive activity.
Recommends the additions of new products and the modification or deletions of present products to the line as appropriate.
Attend and participate in sales meetings, training programs, conventions, and trade shows as directed.
Respond in a timely manner to all reporting requirements and requests
Provide regular monthly and timely feedback on a variety of topics including sales performance/penetration, market feedback, competitive activities, new target accounts, ideas regarding sales growth and new product development opportunities.
Adhere to company policies and conducts all business in an ethical manner.
Develops relationships with surgeons, and other appropriate personnel within the spine product environment.
Managing and maintaining a sample inventory of products.
Travel to all accounts within assigned territory, as directed by K2M Sales Manager, will be necessary.
Acquire clinical competency skills with all K2M products to assure role of sales expert in an elite sales force. Surgical case coverage is required, with the goal of providing the highest degree of value to surgeon and patient.
B.S. in Business/Marketing or Biological/Physiological Sciences, or equivalent working experience in the medical device field required.
Account management skills, incl. problem-solving, customer relations, budgeting.
Excellent organizational, oral, and written communication skills.
Ability to sell in an environment where partnering with a surgeon is critical and ability to sell a new device or procedure.
Proven leadership abilities and experience in selling value-added programs.
Fully knowledgeable about the anatomy and capable of effectively explaining after the completion of sales training.
After two weeks in the territory, able to describe the anatomy of the spine and anatomical landmarks necessary to instruct a surgeon on the use of K2M products.

Excellent communication and presentation skills.
Accustomed to working independently with a high degree of accountability.
