Our in-house food program, Eatsy, has a simple stated mission:
Nourish Etsy?s employees, connecting them to each other and to their communities with food.
To deliver on this mission, the Global Food Programs Manager will need to centralize budgets, policies and planning for Etsy?s food programming company-wide. This dynamic individual will bring a passion for all aspects of food sourcing, preparation and presentation, insuring that our company?s approach is values-aligned and scalable, consistent but also playful. The Manager will unite communal meal planning, snacks provisioning, party and special events food programming under a single philosophy with special attention to transparent communication of sourcing guidelines, nutritional information and community/ecological impact. The Manager will oversee the creation of surveys and novel ways of gauging opinion and participation, constantly improving the level of service. Global staffing, code-compliance and specification of physical space requirements will also fall under the purview of the Director as he or she thinks about the ways our various offices must grow to meet the needs of our employees and guests as well as those of our caterers and independent providers. The Manager will sit on the Facilities Team and play a crucial part in realizing the team?s larger goals.
About the Team
The Facilities Team is responsible for insuring the safety, functionality and overall positive vibrations of Etsy?s offices. Our team handles everything from long-term real estate planning, site selection, space planning and general maintenance, to food programming, interior design, art curation and custom fabrication of furniture pieces in our in-house workshop. We consider our offices a platform to inspire employees and visitors, reinforce Etsy?s brand and culture and support independent artisans and businesses in line with our ideas about employee well-being, community engagement and ecology. Our offices give us a vivid and tactile way to share Etsy's values and reinforce the holistic, collaborative and creative spirit that drives our business. In this way, the Etsy offices are among our most important recruiting assets and communications tools.
Articulate program strategy and objectives in line with Eatsy Mission
Create quarterly goals for achieving program objectives
Include: Vendor and Sourcing Criteria, Wellness education, Inventory Design, Stocking Plans
Centrally manage worldwide growth and program staff/contractors
Oversee hiring to achieve program objectives
Policy Creation and Oversight
Create company-wide policies and guidelines toward empowering staff at each location
Evolve, modify and uphold policy in line with Etsy values and company growth
Work closely with Finance department and local managers to create operational budgets for each location
Control budgets worldwide
Physical plant requirements
Specify dining and catering space needs
Specify equipment needs
Specify maintenance provider needs
Oversee compliance to food safety standards
