Reporting to the Chief Commercial Officer, in this newly formed role, the Global Head of Patient Advocacy and Public Policy will play a key role in the preparation of commercialization activities for Insmed, specifically focused on developing key relationships with patient organizations,and advocacy groups as well playing a lead role in the formulation of Insmed?s policy making initiatives.
Maintain a detailed up-to-date knowledge of government policies that could impact Insmed?s business globally and lead the effort to ensure that Insmed management is effectively informed of them and immediately apprised of significant actual or impending changes.
Coordinate and lead the development and execution of Insmed representation at, and inputs to, relevant government policy making initiatives, either acting independently or in partnership with relevant industry associations.
Lead the global advocacy efforts in both CF and NTM to ensure Insmed has a positive working relationship with global advocates in helping to bring solutions.
Serve as the ?voice of the patient? within Insmed.
Establish, build and strengthen relationships with patient advocacy groups within CF and NTM around the world.
Develop a broad network of personal contacts with targeted association executives and staff and lead relationship building and activities of mutual interest with these stakeholders.
Develop and implement strategic patient advocacy plans and activities by partnering with team members, including commercial, medical and other support functions to support Insmed and reputational objectives.
Participate in the global launch planning process.
Oversee grant and sponsorship process, in partnership with legal, and actively work with patient advocacy groups on the submission and approval process.
Extensive experience in rare disease/orphan drug space in advocacy and policy; US and international experience required.
BS or BA required; advanced degree a plus.
