We are looking for a highly motivated self-starter with excellent problem solving and analysis skills to join our Global Services team. As a Global Services engineer, you?ll troubleshoot and solve customer technical problems as well as perform remote installations of the Company's hardware and software.Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Implementing and testing the Company's video products into customer networks.
Provide Level 1 and Level 2 support to customers and partners for the Company?s products.
Coordinate with Senior Services Engineers, Engineering and QA teams to escalate, replicate, and resolve more complex installation and support issues.
Assist with interoperability testing between vendor products and services.
Must be able to write clear documentation for Knowledge Base and technical solutions sent to customers.
Be a part of a team that provides 24/7/365 global support with headquarters in San Diego, California, and regional offices in Boston, Atlanta, Buenos Aires, Amsterdam, Paris, Munich, Nice, Singapore, and Beijing.
Required Qualifications
Strong debugging, network tracing, log file analysis skills using tools like tcpdump, WireShark, VLC, Splunk, Ineoquest, Tektronix, TOAD, etc. for TCP/IP and RF networks.
Extensive IP and telco networking architecture and configuration experience (TCP/IP, Multicast, Unicast, VLANs, VPNs, Switches, Firewalls, Load Balancers, SSL, netowrk tracing, log file analysis, etc.)
Linux and Solaris systems administration experience to consult and support customer installs.
Basic experience with SQL-based relational databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, with preference on Oracle Enterprise.
Strong and clear written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills in English to respond to customers in a timely and professional manner.
Maintain a professional, positive, ?can-do? attitude, poise under intense pressure to perform, extreme reliability, available to be on-call as necessary; reachable by email, phone, IM, etc.
Must have at least 4 years of professional experience will be considered.
Preferred but not Required
Public-key encryption or DRM such as Windows Media / Microsoft PlayReady, previous experience with IPTV, mobile or Internet content delivery systems, watermarking and experience with embedded systems such as set-top boxes, mobile phones and portable media devices.
