Global Solutions Manager - Distribution Automation Silver Spring Networks
As the Global Solution Manager, you will direct a company-wide team charged with successful positioning, sales, and deployment of end-to-end solutions that meet market needs. This includes defining market requirements, developing and implementing strategies that increase revenue and profitability of the overall solution, setting partner strategy, and set strategies to develop a broad referenceable customer base of your solutions. Based on your industry experience and your contact with customers and prospects, you will set overall solution and business strategy for your areas of responsibility. You must possess a unique blend of business and technical savvy; a big-picture vision, and the drive to make that vision a reality. You must monitor cross-departmental execution against business goals, spend time in the market to understand customer problems, find innovative solutions that satisfy broad market needs, and track industry trends looking for and suggesting new business opportunities.
You are responsible for the overall success of your solution in the market. You must communicate with all areas of the company and partners to ensure cross-functional support of your solution is in place and operating effectively. You will meet with management monthly to review solution readiness, revenue performance, and pipeline development for the solution and make recommendations to ensure success.
A solution manager?s role is strategic, not tactical. The other departments will support your strategic efforts; you won't be supporting their tactical tasks.
Define overall market requirements, business case, and go-to market strategy for your solution.
Monitor and manage revenue and gross margin for the solution to achieve set company targets
Set the strategy for profiling, targeting, and qualification of customer accounts for your solution
Work with marketing and sales to build a solution pipeline that will meet stated company goals
Meet monthly with key stakeholders to review solution readiness, revenue performance, and pipeline development for the solution
Maintain relationships with key managers across the company to ensure effective go-to-market plan execution.
Outline new business opportunities that enable the company to increase shareholder value.
8+ years of product management experience with relevant market and pipeline management experience.
Knowledgeable in required technology domain and experience delivering multi-product/service solutions.
Computer Science, Engineering degree required, MBA or equivalent work experience a strong plus.
This position requires travel to customer and non-customer sites in North America and international markets.
