Based in the Washington DC area this leadership position is responsible for developing and growing Harmonic's Federal Government business.
You will be responsible for the following:
• Develop, manage and close sales opportunities within the Federal Government
• Drive the sales process by generating and qualifying leads that maintain a sales funnel of opportunities that are 3-4 times the annual order quota.
• Assist Marketing and Product Management in developing optimal solutions for the targeted customer base
• Work closely with Sales management and Marketing to penetrate Federal Government accounts
• Manage and develop the relationship with channel partners, application partners, government contractors and consultants
• Develop and maintain a positive personal relationships with key decision makers in the Federal space
• Participation and support of Federal Government and national trade events
• Preparing tender responses and negotiate pricing
• Use business expertise and market knowledge to reinforce Harmonic's position in the Federal market
• Keeping abreast of competition, competitive issues and products.
• Achievement of mutually agreed sales goals
• Work autonomously from a remote location
Required Job Skills: The successful candidate must be able to exhibit a strong sales skill set including above average abilities in the following areas: Organization, Analytical, Verbal & Written Communication, Presentation, Interpersonal, Persuasion, Negotiation, and Resolution. The successful candidate will also have the following skills:
• Must be able to effectively multi-task and be independently motivated, self-directed, and goal oriented.
• Ability to develop relationships with appropriate contacts within Federal agencies and Federal system integrators
• Sales experience with both hardware & software solutions
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing with all levels of the organization and with external contacts.
• Ability to create and deliver powerful and effective presentations
• Proficiency in Microsoft office is required.
• Must be energetic, professional, well networked, focused, and capable of developing a client base and have the ability to work with demanding clientele.
• Extensive travel (up to 50%)
Years of Direct Experience Required: A minimum of 5 years of work-related skill, knowledge and experience selling to the Federal Government is required.
Educational Requirements: A BS in Business, Marketing, Engineering or Computer Science and/or 5+ years Broadcast or IT equipment experience.
Security Clearance is a plus.
