GENERAL PURPOSE: Responsible for creating new business opportunities and business relationships that are determined to be
required steps to win opportunities with targeted customers in the Federal government and relevant government contracting industry.
In concert with BD strategic goals and target opportunities, the account representative creates a target list and then creates and exploits
business relationships to achieve specific business opportunities with targeted partners, organizations or individuals. Responsibilities
include maintaining an approved prioritized roadmap of targeted opportunities, contacts and potential teaming partners that support
the short and long term corporate goals and objectives of winning new business. Responsible for co-developing strategic and tactical
plans for MTNGS marketing material and tradeshow attendance to support the outreach effort.
? Execute BD outreach efforts to successfully win government opportunities in sufficient quantity to meet annual budget goals.
? Identify major strategic business opportunities; gather, synthesize and present detailed opportunity information, financial and

? Identify and form relationships with teaming partners to pursue and win selected opportunities.
? Execute the approved strategy to win near term opportunities either as prime (with targeted vendors) or sub-contractor.
? Build and maintain successful relationships with functional departments (e.g., Contracts, Engineering, Legal, Finance and
HR) to assure an integrated approach for the outreach strategic and tactical roadmap with appropriate resources to meet BD
? Maintain and expand business by calling on regular and prospective clients to solicit new business opportunities and to
explore ways to enhance revenue.
? Maintain effective tracking of outreach efforts to provide reliable return on investment analysis in order to maximize BD
? Assist in product sales campaigns for new business and to further company goals.
? Represent the company at trade shows and conferences to promote new business development.
? Other related duties/responsibilities as may be assigned.
NATURE OF WORK CONTACTS: Reports to the Vice President of Business Development and works with internal personnel
when developing effective business relationships with external customers and peers.
TRAINING, QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
? Bachelor?s degree desired
? 10+ years overall business development experience.
? Sales or Marketing experience preferred.
? Must be qualified to speak broadly about all aspects of MTNGS products and services; broad knowledge of technology.
? Must have the self-confidence to initiate telephone calls and make office visits to potential customers in the VSAT or
communications industry as a part of BD outreach.
? Experienced at tradeshows and conventions initiating one-on-one conversations with prospects as part of BD outreach.
? High level of influencing and negotiating skills.
? Demonstrated knowledge of business development roles and missions, financial bookings projections, and customer
? Demonstrated focus on customer satisfaction and development and maintenance of relationships both internally and
? Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment and/or lead teams to success
? High energy and strong, high-integrity work ethic.
? Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to synthesize requirements and present business cases for

? In-depth computer knowledge (MS Word, Power Point, Excel, MS Project, MS Visio).
