Government & Community Relations Manager Cleanscapes

The Government & Community Relations Manager?s essential duties and responsibilities include the following:
Works with management to develop public relations goals and objectives.
Oversees the development of educational and advertising materials to support various programs, as needed, for the companies and events in the region.
Acts as liaison for recycling issues between the company and all jurisdictions within the region and for local media on waste and recycling issues.
Identifies community events that are advantageous to the Community Relations department.
Develops and maintains contacts with industry group peers, external coalition groups, and other related third parties.
Represents Company at meetings, conferences, and hearings.
Prepares and delivers speeches and presentations within the community.
Monitors state and federal legislative/regulatory updates that impact various operational and business practices of the Company.
Seeks and cultivates opportunities to educate the public on the importance of recycling.
Attends and becomes active in local community organizations and events.
Travels frequently to various offsite meetings.
Other duties may be assigned.
Qualified candidates will have:
Bachelor's degree in public policy or related major, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Requires 4+ years specific experience. Detailed knowledge of waste industry and recycling programs.
Ability to effectively communicate complex issues to a variety of audiences including public officials, government representatives and others.
Ability to speak, read, and write English clearly.
Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and use of Internet.
Valid Class C drivers license.
