WHO WE ARE
BioLite is a for-profit social enterprise that develops, manufactures and markets distributed energy solutions
for off-grid communities around the world. Our first products are clean-burning, wood fueled cooking stoves
capable of converting their own waste heat into electricity to charge electronic devices. Our business serves
two distinct markets, 1) developing world families living in energy poverty, and 2) outdoor enthusiasts seeking
fuel-independent cooking and charging.
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
We are looking for a graphic designer to join our Brooklyn team who has experience in a variety of designrelated roles and responsibilities including web, print, packaging and brand. BioLite?s brand and products
speak through many channels including digital, social, retail, and event-related environments. Our two
markets Outdoor Recreational and Emerging Markets serve two distinct user groups with different marketing
strategies that still speak with one cohesive and compelling voice through a strong design language. You
have a unique and confident eye for design, but are willing to embrace and collaborate on other creative
points of views within the organization. You are passionate about using design as a way to excite audiences
and differentiate powerful stories. You are a self-starter and respond to briefs well but always contribute a little
something extra to make sure your voice is heard. You understand and appreciate the potential impact of
design when done well. This is a rare opportunity for the right fit to help build on and refine a strong brand.

? Design Language Development ? Work with Co-founders, Industrial Design, and Marketing department
to establish Brand Handbook and consistent design language shared both within and outside of the
? Creative Asset Design and Production ? With input from team, design a rich database of creative
assets across a variety of platforms. Projects may include packaging, signage, newsletters, infographics,
brochures, press kit, events, etc. Responsible for sourcing end-production vendors.
? Website Content Support- Aid in the regular visual maintenance of website as it relates to content
marketing and communications. Provide fun and engaging visuals that support biolitestove.com as the
premier destination for all things BioLite.
? Presentation Assistance ? Help BioLite teammates develop visually stunning presentations for
conferences, meetings, speaking engagements, and special events.
? Asset Management ? Organize and manage graphic design assets in easy to navigate system on file
server for entire BioLite team to access
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
? Excellent eye for design, typography, illustration and photography.
? Proven experience in leading design projects from start to finish.
? Strong desire for great visual design? Solid understanding of branding and marketing.
? Experience with web design
? Passion for usability
? Experience with consumer product packaging.
? Understanding of best practices in UX and UI design.
? Ability to work quickly and efficiently under tight deadlines
? Extremely detail oriented
? Ability to juggle and prioritize multiple jobs ? startup experience a plus
? Positive and friendly team player with a sense of humor
? Fluid sketch ability to mock up multiple design variations and for internal communication with the team.
? Fluid expert in Adobe Creative Suite including Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign
? Experience with producing print ready materials
? Baseline understanding of HTML and other web design software
? Bonus but not required: Final Cut Pro, copywriting, Java, social media management
