Job Description:
The Graphic Designer is responsible for the creation of original cover designs and other graphic duties as assigned. Requires daily design decisions based on experience and the author's desires. Must be able to make sound decisions with little supervision.
The position involves regular contact on the phone or in-person with authors, and close cooperation with fellow artists and illustrators.

Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Fine Arts or Graphic Design, or equivalent. At least two years of professional experience in a design and production environment
Specific Skills
Must have professional experience involving advanced uses of Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and other design applications. Must be proficient in Microsoft Windows (2000, XP), Microsoft Office (Word, Excel), and comfortable using networks and/or databases to store and retrieve files. Drawing skills should be superb.

Must be highly motivated and detail oriented, able to think and act quickly and accurately, possess good decision making skills, and able to solve problems with little guidance.
Physical Skill Type/Precision/Dexterity
Position requires daily computer based work necessitating excellent hand-eye coordination and knowledge of intelligent personal ergonomics.
Physical Effort Type/Frequency/Intensity
Must be able to maintain concentration while seated and in front of a computer monitor for a minimum of 8 hours per day.
Working Conditions Hazards/Travel/Hours
Little or no travel; hours are 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, with additional overtime hours on an infrequent and voluntary basis.
