Position Statement:
Internet Broadcasting?s News and Content department seeks a graphic designer to create digital interactive content for television station websites and mobile sites. The person in this position produces engaging, differentiating content to meet specific news and promotional needs.
Responsibilities:
Create digital interactives for the News and Content team and work in collaboration with IB?s Digital Ad Agency team
Lead interactive projects from initial concept to launch
Respond to breaking news and other instances requiring a quick turnaround
Help plan interactive content for large upcoming events (ex. Olympics, elections)
Think creatively and be able to alter design styles to many different topics
Create custom slideshows and custom slideshow templates
Work with editors on research for interactives
Juggle multiple projects under tight deadlines
Meet and exceed high design standards
Qualifications:
Bachelor?s degree in the visual communication field and/or a strong digital portfolio of your best work
Two years of related professional graphic design experience OR an approved equivalent combination of training and experience
Knowledge of journalistic values, standards and fundamentals
Proficiency in MacOS, Adobe Flash, Photoshop, Illustrator and ActionScript 3.0
Experience with XML, HTML, HTML5 and CSS
Understanding of the changing mobile, social and video landscape
Comprehension of graphic optimization and browser limitations
Familiar with information design, site usability and navigation standards
Other Details:
Job requires working on a personal computer for extended periods of time; at least 7 hours per day. Also requires willingness to work occasionally outside of traditional business hours and on short notice as necessary to meet project deadlines and to respond to breaking news.
