Description:Plateau is seeking a Data Center Engineer II to support the Product Operations Group which is responsible for the 24 x 7 On Demand delivery of the Plateau suite of applications.
The person applying for the role will be responsible for Engineering and Administration of the Production data center network for our Hosting / Online SaaS Service based out of 3 Data Centers in the US and Europe. Responsibilities include the planning, design and implementation of the core data center functions including remotely configure and maintaining network equipment such as routers, switches, load balancers, firewalls and VPN Concentrators.
Job Duties include:
o Data Center implementation planning and process documentation
o Rack, Power, Cabling Planning Implementation and Maintenance
o Core network, router, VPN planning, implementation and maintenance
o Load Balancer/Firewall Configuration
o IDS/IPS, vulnerability/penetration test process, procedures and review
o Planning, design and implementation of network monitoring tools, SNMP based systems, etc.
o Client VPN standards and implementation
o DNS/SMTP strategy and management
o System Access Rights (Internal, cross-departmental and external) planning and management
o DR Strategy and Implementation
o Network Hardening
o Bandwidth and Growth Monitoring and Evaluation
o Automation of day to day tasks
o Tier III SME and escalation point
o Managing IDS/IPS and virus protection
o Planning, Implementation and Management of user accounts, permissions and passwords
o Monitoring network usage
o Ensuring the most cost-effective and efficient use of servers and network
o Undertaking routine preventative measures and implementing, maintaining and monitoring network security
o Script processes and procedures wherever possible to attain greater efficiencies for operations and engineering staff
o Planning and implementing future infrastructure developments and undertaking project work
o Ensuring that data center complies with FISMA NIST industry standards and security requirements
Required Qualifications:
o Minimum 5 years data center experience
o Experience with designing and implementing data center networks for a Web / Online operations networks, network routing, switches, load balancers and internet-related networking and security technologies are required
o Experience with most of the following: Linux, Windows, Juniper, Cisco Systems, UNIX, F5, EMC, NetApp, Pillar
o Demonstrated knowledge with most of the following: switches, routers, servers, cableing racks, firewalls, LAN, WAN, TCP/IP, DNS, UDP, Latency, VoIP, QoS, EIGRP, BGP, OSPF, NHRP, and other network protocols
o Familiarity with FISMA C&A processes and NIST guidelines a plus.
o Good Understanding of Security Best Practices
o Solid project management skills required
o Bachelor (4-year) degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or equivalent experience
o Certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, CISSP, JNTCP are a plus
o Ability to obtain a US security clearance is required.
