Associate Developer â GW Beta Intern (HR, Financials, Payroll, Tools, Security, and/or Automation)
Join a talented team of software engineers committed to delivering the highest quality of on-demand enterprise business applications. Workday is looking for talented and enthusiastic individuals who aspire to a career in software development. The Generation Workday Beta Program is a unique opportunity for college students and recent graduates to accelerate their career path into development at a fast-paced, dynamic, high-growth SaaS company. Candidates must be passionate about innovative software development, eager to learn about cutting-edge technologies, and have proven aptitude for developing quality software.
As part of this structured program, candidates will experience a full software development release cycle from design through development to deployment; be responsible for all aspects of the lifecycle of their project; execute within an agile, test driven development environment; build, execute, and debug automated functional and technical tests for Workday applications; be exposed to a variety of functional domains, teams and departments within the company. Successful individuals will become proficient in all the development languages and tools that lead to a career path in software development at Workday.
Upon completion of your apprenticeship, top individuals will be given an opportunity to advance into one of several core teams at Workday, including Application Development, Tools, UI, QA Automation, or Quality Assurance.
Responsibilities / Experience / Skills:
- Active enrollment in BS degree or 4-year computer related field or equivalent.
- Working knowledge of object oriented analysis and design principles.
- Must be a collaborative team player with good verbal and written communication skills.
- Passion for problem solving and high quality deliverables.
- Familiarity with web application technologies and architecture.
- Familiarity with current web services standards (WSDL, SOAP, BEPL, or similar technologies).
- Knowledge of agile and test driven development processes is desirable.
- Understanding of XML technologies and standards is a plus.
- Familiarity with popular web application languages and platforms such as JavaScript, Java, Perl, Python or Adobe Flash.
- Experience with Internet security (Web application security) a plus.
- Participate in a complete development lifecycle from inception through release, working with an agile development team.
- Design and execute a plan for tracking and reporting testing coverage.
- Develop automated regression and performance test suites using a variety of testing tools.
