Hardware Applications Engineer- Knowledge Based Processor Products NetLogic Microsystems
THIS JOB HAS EXPIRED
Description
Want to learn from some of the best in processors?
Applications Engineering offers the best mix of technical breadth and business exposure to jump start your career in technology. Working on cutting-edge processors in a technology driven company enables you to make a difference in the networking products that touch billions of people around the globe.
We are the link between the implementers and the users of the products. We learn from innovative systems companies such as Cisco, Alcatel-Lucent, Huawei, Ericsson, Dell and many others, and apply the knowledge to refine our products. We build product and technology expertise to enable our customers to build faster and more capable equipment.
Applications Engineers gain deep insight into PCB design, power supply distribution networks, usage of multi-gigabit serial interfaces, signal integrity evaluations, and electrical and thermal power budgeting.
Projects (such as design of in-house FPGA-based evaluation platforms, bring-up of new products, and failure analysis) offer the means of absorbing product knowledge and engineering tools that in turn enable you to lead customer technical engagements, work with partner silicon vendors on combined solutions, and guide feature definition of next generation devices.
Applications engineering is a unique role that allows a university graduate both to grow technically as well as to gain valuable leadership skills. Involvement with customers? design choices allows for an insight into system architecture. Participating in bids for customer opportunities allows for insight into business dynamics. Solving complex problems with teams from across multiple departments allows for understanding of project management. Training customers and fellow employees allows for polishing presentation confidence and quality.
Ultimately, applications engineering keeps the doors open to many career paths, ranging from design engineering, through team management, to marketing and sales.
