About the Opportunity
The Company is actively seeking a qualified self-motivated Hardware Intern to work with hardware engineering team(s) to debug and finalize new designs. Role will require an understanding of digital and analog design and use of initiative to create new tests and tools and also to accurately document results. The selected candidate must be a U.S. Citizen or have permanent resident status.
Specific duties include but not limited to:
Work with hardware engineering teams to debug and test hardware designs
Help create design verification test plans and regression tests
Develop support packages for board level products ( dev kits, cables etc)
Create test benches in Verilog for testing and verifying FPGA designs
Create supporting documentation for hardware products ( datasheets, ICD?s, FAQs etc)
Work with software team to develop diagnostic tools for products
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Must have formal training in Computer Systems Engineering or Electrical Engineering.
Must demonstrate technical competence in electronic design and basic theory such as Ohm?s law
Ability to read schematics and component data sheets essential
Ability to use an oscilloscope, multimeter and/or logic analyzer to take measurements
Will need to be able to use MS Office (Word, Visio ) to write documentation
Ability to write clear English documentation for internal and customer consumption.
Additional Desirable Qualifications:
Ability to solder fine pitch surface mount components
Experience with PCIExpress, SATA, Ethernet protocols
Understanding of thermal design / cooling
Power supply design experience or training
Verilog coding experience,
C/Perl programming skills for diagnostic / debug work
CPU, GPU, and DSP knowledge
Training and Experience Required:
Junior level working on a Bachelor?s degree or Master?s degree in Computer Systems Engineering or Electrical Engineering.
