Hardware Engineering Manager
In this role, you will lead FireEye Hardware Engineering functions to design, manage and deliver the next-generation FireEye security appliances and accelerator cards based on internal design, ODM and OEM models. This is a hands-on position that includes design and development activity, managing junior engineers interfacing with OEM/ODM design teams. The job also involves participating in the Hardware roadmap/strategy for next-generation security appliance architectures.
Job Requirements:
Having deep knowledge of product development life cycle. Including front end design, and backend product delivery into manufacturing
Ability to manage OEM/ODM HW developers to deliver designs on tight schedules
Manage, recruit and motivate talented engineers and retain them
Ability to interface with other disciplines, including Software engineering, Product management and Customer Support
Demonstrated experience with shipping products from concept to manufacturing to sustaining
Validation of electro-mechanical design of FireEye appliances by completing Design Verification Tests
Developing test plans for Design Verification Testing (DVT) and HALT
Designing and performing thermal simulations of chassis/add-on cards to ensure thermal margins
Designing packaging tests to validate package integrity
Provide DFM (Design for Manufacturing) feedback on new and current designs to improve manufacturing process
Excellent verbal and written communications skills
Job will require occasional travel to Contract Manufacturing sites
Technical Background:
x86 multi-core processor system design and PCB layout management
x86 architecture knowledge is highly desired
Familiar with multi-core processor architectures like Cavium and Broadcom
Hands on board design experience familiar with design tools including Cadence Concept, and Allegro
Familiar with high speed design signal integrity issues, power distribution techniques
Experience with lab bring up and design validation on products
Familiar with USB, SAS, SATA, PCIe interfaces/protocols
DDR3 memory system design and PCB layout
Work with semiconductor vendors to define solutions/requirements for security appliances
Familiar with chassis design and thermal issues
Education/Experience:
Minimum of 10+ years of experience with BSEE, or MSEE or equivalent
