Job Opportunity: Product Manager - Hardware
We are looking for a Product Manager who has experience with Hardware. This position is based in our headquarters at Bethesda, Maryland.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Establish short and long term hardware product strategy with the goals of improving the patient experience, reducing TCO and driving outcomes. Specifically track the TCO for the top hardware and hardware support cost drivers and implement plans to reduce.
Collaborate with product development on minimizing hardware dependency of application.
Manage the hardware life cycle of various solution components (e.g., product console, server, tv services etc?) from conception to development to release to steady state management.
Track the impact of changes in hardware solution configuration on patient utilization and satisfaction.
Understand customer needs and gather product requirements, including integration into the client and in-room patient environment, durability and field supportability requirements.
Track product development, solution integration validation and develop product launch plans for hardware components.
Conduct holistic assessment and evaluation of hardware customization/enhancement requests to make appropriate recommendations; own the follow-through and operationalization of recommendations. Specifically oversee the approved solution configuration process, including the approval process for non-standard configuration needs in the field.
In collaboration with technical writer, create and maintain comprehensive documentation about hardware components and their operational nuances.
Be an expert with respect to the hardware footprint of competitors.
Understand hardware certification requirements.
Identify potential opportunities for packaging hardware services.
Manage key hardware vendor relationships. Serve as the point of contact for Sales & Services organization for hardware related product questions as well as the escalation point for vendor issues.
Entrepreneurial drive and demonstrated ability to achieve stretch goals in an innovative and fast paced environment.
Excellent problem-solving, organizational and analytical skills, with the ability to evolve product strategy based on research, data and industry trends. Business and pricing experience.
Outstanding ability to work cross-functionally. The ability to correlate different opinions and input from a variety of sources and make informed decisions.
Prior hardware or consumer electronics experience including experience working with an eco-system of hardware vendors.
5+ years of hardware product management experience.
Bachelor?s degree or higher in Engineering or a related technical field.
