Hardware Quality Assurance Engineer Kiva Systems

Kiva is seeking a talented and motivated individual to work with the product development team focusing on
hardware systems quality. This will include requirements review, design review, test development, test
execution, as well as process development. The ideal candidate will have substantial experience in both the
design and test of complex electro-mechanical devices, and extensive knowledge of product development and
quality processes. Further, this candidate should be familiar with the startup environment and the associated
hours, deadlines and high-energy culture that go with launching innovative new products. This position will
report to the VP of Hardware Engineering.
The Hardware Quality Assurance Engineer will be responsible for:
- Reviewing technical requirements for consistency, testability, and completeness
- Participating in design reviews, maintaining and following up on lists of action items
- Developing the hardware test and acceptance methodologies
- Developing test plans in conjunction with the design engineering team
- Setting up tests, including functional, structural, environmental, regulatory and accelerated life tests
- Performing tests, documenting results, and reviewing engineering test data
- Participating in release acceptance process to manufacturing and field deployment
- Working with the product development team to continuously improve and refine the product development
process
The candidate must have the following qualifications:
- BS in engineering, preferably Electrical or Mechanical
- At least 5 yrs in product design or quality engineering, 2 yrs in quality assurance
- Experience with revision control, product lifecycle management and product development processes
- Experience in designing, implementing, and running mechanical, electrical and embedded firmware tests
on computer controlled electro-mechanical devices.
- Data analysis and test results interpretation
- Hands on engineering experience, directly working with test setups and hardware under test
- Commitment to rigorous testing practices
- Experience with programming (Linux/C/C++/Matlab) and databases (SQL) is a plus
- Experience with regulatory approval process (FCC, CE, UL) is a plus
- Strong communication skills and cross-functional leadership
