What you?ll doAs a Hardware Quality Test Engineer, you will work with a team of test engineers, technicians and outsource test labs to meet the product testing needs of the organization, including developing test plans and test specifications based on functional and technical product specifications. Work collaboratively with Product Management and Engineering teams to identify design solutions to issues discovered during product testing and ensure that all products receive passing grades before release. Design, implement, and improve the test infrastructure. Design, implement, monitor, continuously improve, and report on Quality Assurance efforts and activities. Ensure that the test results are thorough and clear, so that sound decisions can be made. You will be a key hands- on contributor in the product development life-cycle. Develop test automation fixture by LabVIEW or other scripting language to improve testing capability. You should be passionate about technology, a team player, quick learner and good communicator. Manage multiple projects, establish project goals, milestones, and procedures, prioritize well and meet deadlines.
How you?ll do it
Work with Quality Assurance Test Manager in developing and implementing test plans, test specifications, procedures, and methodologies.
Review and understand schematics, develop test scripts to perform product hardware and firmware quality, execute hardware and firmware component level testing on products to identify usability and design issues.
Manage test requests to efficiently manage staff, test equipment resources and project priorities.
Publish test reports/results to provide reliable information in a clear and concise manner that can be utilized for making sound engineering choices.
Establish Test automation and data acquisition protocols
Participate in design reviews to offer design solutions to failures and anomalies uncovered during product testing.
What you?ll need
BS degree in Electrical Engineering required, MS degree a plus
5 - 7 years of demonstrated experience in working in Test engineering.
Previous experience leading HW test technicians
Knowledge in use of various test instrumentation including oscilloscopes, multi-meters, power supplies, loads, etc.
Familiarity with scripting and programming languages (LabVIEW, html, xml, Java, C, C++, C#, Objective C, TCL/TK, python, Perl, etc.) a plus
What you?ve done
Deploy Software/Hardware quality testing (Embedded or application/Network, KVM (Keyboard, Video and Mouse) and AV products, Surge Protector, USB devices, Multimedia Interface (HDMI, VGA, DVI, Thunderbolt, MHL)
Assist in the procurement of test equipment and commercial test software where applicable to support test requirements.
Continuously improve the efficiency and efficacy in test execution, data gathering, reporting and bug tracking
Work with all functional groups to ensure that lessons learned are captured and incorporated into new product designs and development processes.
