HARDWARE SYSTEMS APPLICATION ENGINEER Audience
Job DescriptionAs part of a dynamic technical team, the System Application Engineer will be responsible for hardware and system design of demo systems, reference platforms, and tools as well as applications development and documentation. The successful candidate must be willing to travel up to 20% of the time. Position will have a serious impact on the overall success of company operations. Position reports to Senior Director of Applications Engineering. Responsibilities include:
Key Responsibilities
Designing demo systems and reference platforms for Audience's products
System architecture definition and documentation
Hardware design (part selection, schematic capture, layout review)
Audio design and tuning to provide best system audio/voice quality
Participating in creating documents and white papers
Training Audience's application engineering and sales teams on demos/reference platforms

Experience, Skills and Education Required
Experience designing audio hardware systems (demo platforms or consumer products)
Strong system design experience in hardware and software
Consumer Electronics or Telecom Semiconductor / IC support and/or design experience
Expertise in debugging hardware (PCB level) and software bugs
Familiarity with debug tools such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and in-circuit emulators
Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field of study and at least 5 years of relevant work experience
Experience, Skills and Education Desired
Experience in cellular wireless industry (mobile handsets, PND, or tablets)
Audio expertise including CODECs, AEC, and noise reduction
Acoustic expertise
PCB layout
Low-level software development (C system code, microcontroller)
