We are seeking a molecular/structural biologist with diverse skills to lead our Antibody Engineering efforts. This individual should have strong molecular biology skills and a solid understanding of protein structure and engineering. The successful candidate will be responsible for antibody humanization/engineering and affinity maturation using phage display. Other responsibilities include expression of antibodies and their fragments using E. coli, yeast and mammalian cell host systems; the design/expression of proteins for use as antigens or screening reagents. Working within the Antibody Technologies group, you will be a cross-functional member on multiple project teams tasked with identifying and advancing promising antibody leads.Qualifications
Ph.D. with at least 5 years of relevant industry experience. The candidate must have extensive experience in molecular biology, including advanced PCR techniques, design of vectors, coding sequence optimization for recombinant protein expression and library construction. Knowledge of the principals of protein structure in general and antibody structure in particular is essential. The candidate should have experience designing engineered proteins for expression in microbial or mammalian cells, and know how to use a protein visualization software such as PyMOL. Experience using phage display to select target-binding proteins is a plus. Excellent verbal and written communications skills are essential.
