Head of Marketing SecondMarket

SecondMarket is seeking a marketing leader to join our industry-changing business. Reporting to SecondMarket?s Head of Public Affairs, the role would be based in New York but require frequent travel to San Francisco. Candidate should be proactive, reliable, and able to strategize and execute effective marketing initiatives for SecondMarket?s various business segments. Candidate must be a self-starter and able to work independently or in a group. Attention to detail is crucial to the role.
Responsibilities:
Lead SecondMarket?s marketing activities including messaging, brand awareness and customer acquisition
Lead a small marketing team, managing roles from analytical to creative
Design, implement and facilitate annual marketing plan
Develop and execute marketing initiatives that define a specific target audience, communicate the relevant marketing messages and generate qualified in-bound sales leads
Continue to develop product positioning and messaging for SecondMarket?s various business segments; increase the understanding, acceptance, and adoption of SecondMarket among key stakeholders (e.g., private companies)
Work closely with the Product teams to refine various product features and requirements
Partner with the Product teams to coordinate product marketing initiatives
Work closely with the Sales teams to understand customer requirements, current obstacles to the sales process, and key value propositions
Partner with sales team to generate sales collateral and drive leads into the sales process
Requirements:
7-10 years in corporate marketing and/or product marketing
Experience running large scale branding, direct response and user acquisition campaigns
Demonstrated success defining sales funnels and generating high quality leads
Self-motivated team player with excellent verbal and written communication skills
Exceptional interpersonal skills - must be able to interact with employees of all levels
Adapts quickly to shifting priorities and takes initiative when crises arise
Uses quantitative approach to track success
Prior experience working in a tech start-up and/or financial services company preferred
Willingness to travel frequently between NYC and SF
