Common Sense Media is the leading independent, non-profit organization dedicated to improving the lives of kids and families by providing the information, education, and independent voice they need to thrive in a world of media and technology. We are growing rapidly, and seeking a talented, experienced policy professional with a keen sense of strategy, who knows the California policy environment and can get major players to listen and act. This position is based in San Francisco.
WHAT YOU?LL DO:
To succeed in this role you must be an inspired leader with real life understanding of current policy issues and opportunities. You will help move Common Sense Media?s mission forward, working with high profile players on issues like online privacy and digital literacy education. It?s exciting work, and your success will mean that more children, families and educators learn to navigate the digital media world in safe, responsible ways.
WHAT WE NEED TO SEE ON YOUR RESUME:
You?re a thoughtful, innovative person with high-level bipartisan contacts, as well as relationships in the media and technology industries. You know how to influence policymakers, business leaders, advocates and others in order to build solutions for families and schools. You?ve earned a Master?s or similar degree in government or related areas and you can show us a proven track record of success advancing legislation and policy issues. You must be able to lead and manage change, tackle complex and challenging problems and work with a diverse array of partners. You can work independently and in teams. You?re highly intelligent, you have great verbal and written communications skills, and you know how to get things done.
